The Vigilant Kingbirds The poor Red Wing Black bird that tried to land on those branches, is probably still hiding in the reeds from them. I found it odd to find them out in a marsh. Usually I think of the Kingbirds as being the iconic rural meadow bird, along with the meadow lark and bobolinks. I often spot these birds on top of fence posts, shrubs, anything really that can give them a bit of a vantage over their domain.
The snowy was very tolerant of me, only glancing down as the shutter of the camera shutter clicked. Unfortunately it was not a fan of the snow mobiles that did not see either of us, and roared through.
