The Road Less Traveled
This clearing had some interesting surprises.
The turkey vultures were soaring, and gliding really low through this clearing. It had a break to the lake, so the vultures were catching breezes, diving into the clearing and gliding out over the lake. Of course one of the sixteen were not like the others, a lone confused osprey found itself keeping up with the vultures.
The meandering winding road through the marsh really is the road less traveled. These roads are only open to conservation staff, and during hunting season. The rest of the time we are hiking on them to get to our destination, but makes for an easy hike.
